Neil F. Taylor

Professional:

Neil Taylor’s experience includes over a decade working in state government at the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ), most recently as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the DOJ’s Labor and Employment Law Section. Before that, Neil worked as Labor Relations Manager at the Executive Department for the State of Oregon, where he negotiated and administered statewide Collective Bargaining Agreements directly under the Governor’s office. Before that, Neil clerked for the DOJ’s Labor and Employment Law Section while attending law school at Lewis and Clark Law School, where he graduated in 2012.

Neil’s practice in labor relations and employment law matters is extensive, and includes successfully litigating significant labor and employment disputes, including multimillion-dollar grievances and arbitration litigation. Neil also served as direct legal counsel for the Attorney General and the DOJ’s Executive Team in successor collective bargaining with the DOJ’s attorneys.  He also conducted and supervised complex workplace Civil Rights investigations and regularly represented public employers in BOLI/EEOC Civil Rights complaint processes. Neil was awarded the Attorney General’s “Excellence in Justice” award in recognition of his work serving the public in labor relations.

Personal:

Neil grew up in the Pacific Northwest, fishing and swimming in his hometown of Lake Chelan, Washington. Neil eventually landed in Portland, Oregon, and worked full-time as a Concierge at a downtown Portland hotel during his full-time undergraduate studies at Portland State University. He recalls fondly exploring the restaurants and entertainment of Portland and sharing those experiences with the traveling public. His favorite things to do include teaching his daughter to fish, watching a good series on Netflix or baseball, and strolling around new places.
